Our Story

Aja Adornments started with a love for jewelry, gemstones and African culture combined. This love has blossomed into a business.

I fell in love with them in 2020 and created my own just to wear since then. From experience I can tell you that it has made my self love and body confidence journey a whole lot easier and sacred. My goal making waist beads is to make the self love journey easier for everyone.

The Name

The name Aja (AH-jah) derives from the African forest spirit of nature and is also considered a Yoruba Orisha.

Waistbeads are not just an accessory they have deeper roots than you would think. They are more than just jewelry,they are meant to be worn for a long time so they should be made to last. These adornments are a part of African traditions/ cultures and they are worn for a variety of reasons like weight management, spirituality, fertility, child growth, womanhood and in some cases just for adornment.
